Surprise Guest for 2nd Graders!
Following an exciting and successful 2nd Grade Chorus Concert, Ms. Collman treated the 2nd Grade students to 2 amazing surprise guests! Professional Opera singers from the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, Nathan Carlisle and Bryan Griffin visited the class and shared their experiences as professional chorus members. The students asked questions and Mr. Carlisle and Mr. Griffin were kind enough to demonstrate a few of the ways they express themselves through song.
Congratulations Ms. Collman and the 2nd Grade Chorus for a fantastic Spring Concert!
Thank you Scott Edelstein for the great photos!
First Graders make over 120 Valentines for Citymeals-on-Wheels!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our first grade students and their teachers for helping with a community service initiative. The students made lovely Valentine’s Day cards for homebound elderly New Yorkers through a program with Citymeals-on-Wheels. The cards will be hand-delivered with a meal on Valentine’s Day. Our students’ creative and cheerful valentines will surely make the recipients feel cared for and appreciated. The first graders took pleasure in helping others and they were incredibly prolific – creating over 120 cards!
Thank you to all our 2014 KidCreate participants
