Kindergarten Curriculum

Kindergarten is a year for building independence, community, and social emotional skills. We also have time to learn through play and during choice time and studies. Students extend their learning on trips and more in-depth projects connected to their studies. Kindergarteners learn to read and write stories and nonfiction by reading with the class, their reading partners, and independently. Family tip sheets can be accessed on our literacy program for Grade K here that will provide a list of texts students will read and activities to extend students' thinking. Students also learn to think like mathematicians by solving problems and through the use of manipulatives, physical objects that are used as teaching tools.
